I have put together a very basic web service that calculates shipment rates in realtime. Basic parameters such as to and from zip code, to and from country code, and total weight are required. You will need to check with UPS to get a list of all valid country codes.
This web service returns a Query object with the service code, service name, and estimated cost. Here is an example query result: http://www.cfcoding.com/_test/ups_calc/test.cfm. To invoke this service, the following code is required:
If you are interested in having a full component that accepts package dimensions, please contact me.
Feb 3, 2009 at 11:00 AM I'm putting together a web app. for a friend, and would like to use the UPS Shipping Rate Calculator compenent, nice job putting it together... regards luigi........
Apr 18, 2009 at 6:38 PM This is a nice tool but the rates are not accurate. Your example for example returns a ground shipping value of $7.70. The UPS website gives a shipping value of $11.23. Is there a way to adjust the rates?
Apr 20, 2009 at 5:18 PM Unfortunately, you are correct. The rates no longer match up. I'm curious to know if UPS modified their API or not...
